Web page: MOIST dataset metadata

Area: Gulf of Cadiz

Instrument: Nobska MAVS-3 3 axis acoustic current meter

Period: August 26, 2007 - July 16, 2008

Abstract: High-frequency current meter (MAVS3 made by NOBSKA manufacturer) was mounted on GEOSTAR to collect data with high sampling rate. It provided punctual current measurements to monitoring the hydrodynamic condition inside the station.

Purpose: The high sampling rate (5Hz) was used in order to better observe possible influences of seawater currents on seismological data.

Quality of data: More than 10GB of data were collected during one year of measurements. The record is periodically affected by the lack of few seconds of data. On the whole, about the 95% of data were well recorded.
