Web page: MOIST dataset metadata

Area: Marmara Sea

Instrument: AADI Oxygen Optode 3830

Period: October 05, 2009 - March 15, 2010

Abstract: The Optode sensor measures the dissolved oxygen concentration in sea water using a lifetime-based luminescence quenching principle. The dataset includes a measured device temperature channel and the oxygen saturation values [%] computed from concentration and temperature.

Purpose: The sensor is used to monitor the oxygen concentration dissolved in sea water and to provide oxygen concentration values needed by the methane sensor calibration formula.

Quality of data: Raw Oxygen data as recorded by the Optode sensor from 5 October 2009 until 15 March 2010. The data set is continuous with few gaps (0.048% samples lost). The concentration values are not corrected for sea salinity. True concentration values needs post processing elaboration using salinity data [see Optode manual]. The temperature channel measures the device temperature.
